It only takes a moment to register,
but the impact of this great event goes a long way to help our community!
The United Way of Meriden and Wallingford is delighted to announce
that this year’s Day of Caring is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
We have already had many of our corporate partners inquire
about our Day of Caring, and we would like to offer you the opportunity
to help us LIVE UNITED™ by participating in this worthwhile event.
Year after year, Day of Caring has proven to be a rewarding experience
benefiting your employees, your company and local agencies in our community.
Last year’s Day of Caring was an amazing day, with over 350 employees from local
companies participating by donating their time and energy to our partner agencies.
There was a huge variety of projects, including but not limited to: planting a garden,
organizing a food pantry, waterproofing a playscape, painting a porch,
visiting the elderly, washing windows, cleaning vans and much, much more!
Please join us in our quest to LIVE UNITED™.
United Way is working to advance the greater good of the community
but we cannot do it alone; we need the heads, hands and hearts of committed
people like you to help us tackle the problems facing our community.
Working together to improve the quality of life in our community through
the Day of Caring not only enhances employee communication and teamwork,
but also helps everyone involved learn more about the programs funded
through United Way. By taking this step and involving your company and employees
in Day of Caring, you become a leader in the movement to LIVE UNITED™.
If this sounds like a way to get your employees out into the community for an unforgettable, hands-on experience, all you need to do is take a few moments to register your company online.
Please be sure to register by 4 p.m. on Friday, August 6!
After that date, all projects will be assigned and T-shirts will be printed with the
names of the registered companies who are participating in this year’s event.
If your company is unable to participate in Day of Caring this year,
can your group hold a food drive to help out one of our local food pantries?
The need for food is enormous once this year, and our agencies gratefully appreciate any donations your company can collect to help local families.
