Meriden’s “Mitten Lady,” otherwise known as Gloria Connelly,
with her 2009 donation of 148 pairs of mittens
that will warm the hands of our local children!
Gloria knits all year long so that when winter approaches, she has hundreds of mittens ready to donate. This year marks the 8th year that she has generously donated her handmade mittens
to The Volunteer Center – for a grand total of over a thousand mittens!
Our agencies love receiving her beautiful handiwork to
keep many little hands warm through the cold winter months.
We want to say a huge thank you to Gloria, aka “The Mitten Lady,”
for once again thinking of our community’s children,
and for sharing her warmth with so many.
