DAY OF CARING 2009!

9/15/2009
    Meriden & Wallingford

Event Details:

Did you know that one hour of volunteer time is worth $27.01 to nonprofits in Connecticut?*

So we ask you:

How much time did your workplace invest in the community last year? What was your time worth? Won’t you join us as we LIVE UNITED on United Way Day of Caring?

Join thousands of your friends, neighbors and colleagues on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 for a day of volunteering.  Your group might build plant a garden for elderly residents to enjoy, add a fresh coat of paint to a daycare center, lead a bingo game at the senior center, or read books to children.  Last year, approximately 350 volunteers from nearly 20 companies came together and collectively changed our community for the better.

Day of Caring is your chance to make a lasting impact in our community. Be a part of this fun day of community service by volunteering to improve local schools, nonprofits and parks in Meriden and Wallingford.  Have a favorite non-profit?  Be sure and encourage them to sign up for a Day of Caring project here.

COMPANIES:  Click HERE to register and sign up your volunteers today!

AGENCIES:  Click HERE to register your organization to host volunteers (to work on a project of your choice) on this year's Day of Caring!!

If you have any further questions, please email United Way Day of Caring Coordinator Sarah Chorzempa at sarah@unitedwaymw.org or call (203) 235-4403, extension 12.
